GYL CARES Assistance Program
If you are a Gana-A'Yoo shareholder, 18 years of age or older, who has experienced negative financial impacts due to COVID-19, you may qualify for cash assistance through the CARES Assistance Project. The program provides eligible shareholders funding up to $1,448.
The Program provides a one-time payment to eligible Gana-A'Yoo shareholders who have extra expenses and/or loss of income related to the COVID-19 pandemic between March 1, 2020, and December 31, 2021, that has not been paid by or reimbursed by any other Alaska Native Corporation, CARES Act Program or any other federal, state, tribal, or local government.
The Cares Assistance Program is funded through the corporation's allocation of Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding and will provide cash assistance directly to eligible Gana-A'Yoo shareholders who have experienced negative financial impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic.
WHO IS THE CARES ASSISTANCE PROJECT FOR?
To qualify, you must be:
A Gana-A'Yoo shareholder; AND
Negatively impacted financially by the COVID-19 pandemic
The application period opens at 11 AM, AKDT, October 5, 2021, and you may apply through Monday, November 15, 2021, 5 PM, AKST deadline.
To be eligible, you do not need to live in the Gana-A'Yoo Region or the state of Alaska; Cares Assistance Program funds are available to ALL shareholders who meet certain criteria, regardless of where they live.
The application is available for download here, or for pick up at our Anchorage or Galena offices. We also have village liaisons to help in each community: Kimberley Bower in Nulato, Sharon Nollner in Galena, Tommy Neglaska in Kaltag, and Vera Lestenkof in Koyukuk. Please practice safe COVID-19 protocol by wearing a mask and social distancing when possible.

GYL Shareholder Census
As your village corporation, we are always interested in learning more about our shareholders and descendants, especially during these recent times when we were unable to gather in person for Shareholder Information events. This census is to gather information from current shareholders to better understand the potential number of eligible descendants if Gana-A’Yoo was to open enrollment. The information provided will also be helpful in identifying and creating future opportunities and programs for shareholders and descendants. The Gana-A'Yoo Settlement Trust Board of Trustees approved the Gana-A'Yoo Settlement Trust (GST) distribution amount of $7.47 per unit (share), or $747.00 per 100 shares. This non-taxable distribution will be issued on Thursday, April 29, 2021 by direct deposit or mail.
